BOSU Integrated Balance Training (3 AFAA ceus)

Balance and body equilibrium are the keys to effective movement and sports performance. The BOSU Balance Trainer™ program is a modular training system that helps improve proprioception and balance within every component of fitness. In this workshop, you'll learn exercises and movement patterns that will challenge your balance during cardiovascular, strength and flexibility training. Each training module integrates balance, stability and body awareness for total body, functional fitness.

Yoga Instructor Certification

Learn the theoretical foundation of Yoga as well as the practical application necessary to instruct a well-balanced Yoga class for all-level participants. Through supervised practice and group support, participants will learn the concept of connecting mind, body and breath to create unity with the self and the outside world. The course focuses on the principles of consciousness, mind/body awareness, mental focus, and well-being.

The Wave Workout

The Wave Workout™ Certification consists of 2 parts:

1. An intensive online (Internet) course divided into four chapters: the first three chapters are followed by a corresponding interactive quiz.
The online curriculum covers:

  • Cycles vs. Intervals
  • Benefits of Cyclic Exercise
  • History, background and origins of The Wave Workout™
  • Solutions to known and emerging problems with "Excessive Endurance Exercise"
  • Benefits of physical variability and heart rate variability
  • Toxicity issues related to decreased physical variability
  • Exercise and Circadian Rhythms
  • Exploration into the differences between Cycles, Rhythms and Waves
  • Eating patterns and sleep cycles as related to exercise and wellness

2. An intensive three-hour certification workshop with a written and practical exam (taking place after the online course is completed). The online course must be completed prior to the certification workshop. (Allow 1 week for completion of online course.)

Mat Science I
